How do you know if you’ve found the so-called ‘One’? It can be tough, it can be time-consuming and it definitely comes with its share of disappointment.  I’ve had to get through many frogs to get to my Prince. Would I change that? Of course not. With every “frog” that I’ve encountered, I have learnt something new about myself, I have been strengthened, I have become wiser. I truly believe each of those “frogs” were merely stepping stones for the Prince waiting for me. The Prince who has come at his appointed time, the one who my name was tied to before I had even taken my first breath, the one whose ribs I emerged from.

So how do you know if it’s true? Well there are never any guarantees in life, however, when you know…you know. I used to always hate it when people said that to me, as a Computer Scientist I need cold, tangible, hard facts. I need algorithms, I need to utilise decomposition and abstraction. I can’t possibly make a lifelong decision on a vibe, a feeling, a mere hunch. After all, our feelings change so can we really rely on them as variables? (Enough with the Computer Science references – I promise!)

Well since I have got engaged (Alhamdullilah, Alhamdullilah, Alhamdullilah) I have begrudgingly accepted that the feeling is very much present and real. When you know, you do indeed know. It feels real, it feels safe, it feels like home. Without experiencing night, we can’t appreciate day. Without experiencing dark, we can’t appreciate light, without experiencing sound, we can’t appreciate silence. Without experiencing wrong, we can’t appreciate right.

I feel so lucky, spoilt and grateful Alhamdullilah 🙂 He is definitely Mr Right and definitely worth the wait! Now before I start gushing even further…I guess what I’m trying to say is hang in there, it does get better, your patience will be rewarded.

Please remember us in your humble duas 🙂
