regards
Salaams:) wayakum, please be sure to check the latest one at: https://deenandthedunya.wordpress.com/2015/07/02/nestle-halal-list-2015/
Hello, is milkybar actually halal? Bc it says nothing about being vegetarian or halal?!
Thanks.
السلام عليكم,
Jazak’Allah for reading, if you have a look at the 2015 list, milky bar is on there Alhamdullilah:)
Doesn’t Kirkpatrick have natural vanilla extract? Isn’t this haram?
Assalamualaikum, I accidently buy the cheese cake kitkat flavour at the japanese food festival in damansara. Is it halal ?
Nestle Nino milk powder it is a halal?
Aero feel the bubble chocolate ingredients .what’s a flavoring ingredient?
Anything Unhealthy for Human Body and Soul is Haram
Food , Drink , Source of Income , Act
Dont you think there should be a specific siymbol of Halal Contents?
I mean apart from being vegetarian we need to have some protein level ?
Please guide
Salaams,
I would love to see a (H) symbol appear for products that are suitable for Halal consumption which would help people when purchasing items with the (V) sign but has alcohol present. I think the same should apply for (K) for Kosher, (C) for Coeliac (T) for Teetotal…it would certainly make shopping quicker!
Assalamoalikum. i just wanted to ask u that SMARTIES SHARING BLOCK is halal or not as it contains natural vanilla flavouring which in many cases is not halal. Please answer me. Thank you.
Assalamualaikum. Got a little question. I know its stupid but I better confirm before consuming. “Alta Rica” being halal on the list, I just wanted to know, does the product especification/ingredients change when its from dedifferent countries? I mean, is this halal list for UK only? We got Alta Rica here (outside uk) and am wondering if it is still halal.
JazakaAllah 🙂
Walaikum Salaam, I don’t think it’s a stupid question at all. I have got this list and the updated one from Nestle UK. As per Nestle’s notice above, ingredients vary from country to country so it would be best to check with your local Nestle. I hope that helps 🙂
Nestle Kit Kat (India) contains enzymes. Do you have any idea whether these enzymes are animal or plant derived, or microbial enzymes?
Salaams, this list is for UK products, therefore I think the ingredients may vary from country to country. If in doubt, contact Nestle India for assistance.
salaams, is the nestle smarties cookies halal?
Wasalaams, Smarties are NOT halal according to Nestle. If you are talking about the giant cookies, they are often made in-store so it would be best to ask the bakery department.
Salaam,
Grateful if you could clarify where you got the source that smarties is halaal. I am Aware it is suitable for vegetarian but not on the halaal list as it contains alcohol.
Love smarties so would appreciate clarification on this!
Jzk.
Wasalaams, this is now in doubt, please avoid smarties until this is cleared up! Jazak’Allah khair
Salaams,
Jazak’Allah Khair for flagging this up! I have confirmed with Nestle and Smarties are indeed not on the most recent Halal list so it is not permissible 🙁
Salam, here’s a sister from Portugal 🙂
Maybe I didn’t see the list right, but there are no halah yogurts? (I’m using my tablet , maybe I can see the full list). And if there are is Nestle’s greek yogurt halah?
Sorry for the misspellings 🙂
Salaams sister, I don’t know whether the products in Portugal are the same so please be wary. The bottom part of the list refer to the hala yoghurts 🙂 It doesn’t mention Greek yoghurt unfortunately.
Is munch bunch drinking yourght is halal
Salaams sister, according to this list it is only the Shootums that are halal in the Munch Bunch range. I will investigate further in sha Allah 🙂
salam. this is new foundings in Malaysia regarding Cadbury chocolates having tested with porcine (pork) ingredients despite having HALAL certification from JAKIM – sole government strict halal certification body. apparently the almond and hazelnut dairy chocolate are non halal. I assure you that since our country’s majority are muslim any exported products you see in your respective countries that have Malaysia JAKIM’s HALAL is safe to consume. This recent founding proves that the moment companies certified with HALAL ignorantly broke the rules and contaminate the products with non halal materials they will be detected.

Does the above list include “whey powder”? Because ingredients say whey powder is in the food and apparently we can not have whey powder.
Salaams, I have contacted Nestle about this issue and I have been told that the whey powder for products on the vegetarian list is derived from vegetable origin. Also, the products that are on the veg list but not the halal list are ones that have ha alcohol as a carrier. In sha Allah I should be getting an updated list soon 🙂
Salam, are all nestle products halal? Even in the philippines? Like milo and nescafe 3 in 1?
Jazakallah…
Salaams…
I am keen to know if the Kitkat is halaal, as there is whey, whey protein and lactose and protein from whey…
Quality street there is whey powder is it halal?
Salaams, I am trying to find the nature of this whey, will post back soon in sha Allah
Assalamualykum brother. I would like to know if smarties are veggie or no. JazakAllah
Wasalaams, smarties now appear on the veg list which means that they must have stopped using e20 for the pink colouring Masha’Allah
Assalamualaikum Waseem from DRC-Congo, i would like to know, Is Maggi noodles halal, it contains wheat Gluten, can any one please let me know.
Jazakallah
Salam, could you please confirm if ‘nestle toll frozen chocolate chip cookie mix’ is halal or not for Muslim consumption?
Salaams Sister Maryam,
Unfortunately this product is not available in the UK so Nestle in the UK would be unable to comment. Please contact Nestle in the country of manufacture.
Allah knows best:)
Are the chocolates in Nestles “Black magic” halal since one of the ingredients is whey powder. This is purchased in Canada
Salaams Brother Siddiq,
Unfortunately this product is not on the Halal list that Nestle have supplied. It would be beneficial for you to contact Nestle in the country of manufacture. This article may be of some interest to you: http://www.foodguide.org.uk/?page=viewquestion&id=20
Allah knows best 🙂
Salam, i can see that you have listed kitkat milk 2 fingers in the halal list. However, it contains natural vanilla flavouring and I just read from muslimconsumergroup.com that alcohol is used in its extraction therefore it is not halal. So now I’m abit confused. Hope you can help me in this?Jazakallah khair.
Salaams sister,
I have heard many mixed views on this, however, after doing some research, I found that
http://www.foodguide.org.uk/?page=viewquestion&id=200 says that the extracts are deemed permissible due to the nature that they are used in (not for intoxication), because the alcohol is often burnt off in the cooking process and also because these extracts are very commonly used. I hope that helps a little 🙂
Allah knows best 🙂
Assalamu’alaikum…
thanks a lot for your information. I want to know about kit kat green tea, espresso coffee and other flavor from japan. are those halal? thanks before for your answer 🙂
Assalamu Alaikum,
Forgive me sister, this is the UK list…you will have to contact Nestle in Japan for information on the products manufactured there. Because those flavours are not readily available in the UK, I can’t tell you their status here:)
May Allah SWT guide us all to halal foods:)
“Some products on this list have been fortified with Vitamin D3 sourced from lanolin (sheep’s wool).”
Forgive my ignorance but consuming Vitamin D3 sourced from sheep’s wool is halal right?
Salaams brother, your question is not ignorant at all:) I have been assured by nestle that these products are suitable for a halal diet. Sometimes ingredients are used in the cooking process but not present in the final product. However, I am by no means a scholar so I will conclude by saying if in doubt, it’s best to leave it out:)
@Naz
Lactose – could be derived directly from Milk in which case it is Halal or from whey powder in which case it is doubtful. Doubtful meaning if the whey is a by product of Halal cheese manufacture then it is Halal and if not, then not Halal. Only Nestle can confirm the source of the lactose.
@Naz & @Ebrahim
I contacted Nestle regarding this as I did not want to promote false information. The lady told me that most items contain lactose that is suitable for Vegetarians. Also, most items omitted from the Halal list are due to alcoholic flavourings used in the chocolate. I have uploaded the vegetarian list below:
http://deenandthedunya.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/vegetarian-avoidance-list.pdf
Crunch is also not on here, therefore Brother Ebrahim is probably right about the lactose in this particular product.
PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE REFER TO THE HALAL LIST AS THE VEGETARIAN LIST CONTAINS ITEMS THAT HAVE ALCOHOLIC FLAVOURINGS AND HAS ONLY BEEN UPLOADED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHICH ITEMS ARE SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS AND NOT A HALAL DIET AND VICE VERSA.
Jazak’Allah Khair for reading:)
I live in the U.S and people on the Internet say that Nestlé Crunch chocolate bar is halal but its not on this list.
The ingredients are listed on the wrapper as followed: milk chocolate (sugar, choclate, cocoa butter, non fat milk, lactose, milkfat, soy lecithin, vanillin-an artifical flavor), crisped rice (rice flour, sugar, barely malt, salt).
Can you verify if its halal or not?
Salaams, the ingredients listed all look ok for a halal diet, however, I am not learned enough to be able to pass judgement on that. I have been advised that all the items on this is are not only suitable for a halal diet but also not at any risk of cross-contamination. This list is also for UK products, so it might be beneficial for you to contact Nestle in the US.
I hope this helps 🙂
Thanks! Also, do you know anything concerning lactose? Is that a halal ingredient? i ask because that is the only thing concerning me with the ingredients posted above.
Hi, can u inform me if the ‘Nestle Quality street’ chocolate is halal? i am seeking further clarification regarding the Glycerol ingredient. Thanks !
Assalaamu Alaikum brother, according to the above list, all varieties of Quality Street are deemed suitable for a halal diet:) however this may only be referring to the miniatures as the purple bar is mentioned separately:) hope this helps
Thank you. I sent Nestle an email and waiting. But this would be a question to Nestle Iran, not Nestle USA, right? The can was produced in Iran, imported from there by a local food store here.
OK. I have a Cerelac can in my hand that my wife bought from a local store in Texas that imports from the ME and around the world. It reads “Nestle Cerelac Wheat & Fruits”. Reads it was produced in Qzvin, Iran. In the above “halal” list, I see “Cerelac Wheat” and “Cerelac Fruits” as two separate items. So is my can a different item? It is not in the above list as it is. I researched Cerelac producsts but there is not a single website that lists all the products so that I could verify whether my item was indeed different than “Cerelac Wheat” and “Cerelac Fruits”.
To be exact, my item seems to be this one: http://www.nestle-family.com/cerelac/products/cerelac-fruits-and-wheat.aspx. Ingredients on the can read: Wheat flour, Skimmed milk, Sucrose, Orange, Palm olein, Pineapple, Banana, Low erucic rapeseed oil, Coconut oil, Sunflower oil, Calcium carbonate, Sodium phosphate, Vitamins, Vanillin, Ferric pyrophosphate, Bifidus culture, Zinc sulphate, Potassium iodide.
Could you please help me out? Please email me zaksakoglu@gmail . Thank you.
Assalamu Alaikum Brother,
Unfortunately this list is for items being sold in the UK:) if the item is not on the list it is not halal. However, the ingredients that you posted all look permissible however your best option would be to contact Nestlé USA. Please keep us informed of your progress in sha allah:)
Jazak’Allah for reading:)
Salam, I’ve just bought the “So Juicy Smoky BBQ for ribs” and just saw “Smoky Bacon” on the ingredients list. 🙁 are you sure it’s halal? Thank you!
Wasalaams sis:) everything on this list is from nestle themselves. Sometimes Smoky Bacon is a flavouring they use as Walkers Smoky Bacon crisps once had the ‘V’ sign (not sure if it still does). I am no way a scholar and therefore wouldn’t feel right to advise you Islamically:) however I have been told that all the items on this list are suitable for a halal diet:) with that said, if in doubt…leave it out:) Allah knows best! x
Salaams sis,
This product has now been taken off the list. Please keep an eye out for the updated list:)
i want to find out what nestle products are purely jain( free from potato raddish onion etc and non veg and by products obtained from non veg or geletin or yeast ),where could i post them ? i am from india
Hi Manali,
Thank you for popping by! This is a halal list which is suitable for a Muslim diet:) unfortunately I cannot confirm whether these products are suitable for a Jain diet. Your best option would be to contact nestle India as they may have compiled a list. Please let me know if you need any help and I hope you find what you are looking for:)
