This is a very quick blog post about something that is quite relevant to me.
From a young age, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to read in Arabic as fluently as I would like and often find myself stumbling and stuttering which results to me taking a long time to read and often getting quite demotivated. I then started to read transliterations to save time.
However, recently I find myself trying to revert back to Arabic. Although I am still not fluent, Alhamdulillah I feel that with regular recitation I am improving.
in sha Allah may Allah SWT accept all our zikr and enable to become fluent in our Quran recitation. Ameen
From Aisha (RA) who said that Muhammad (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said: “The one who recites the Qur’an and is proficient in it, will be with the angles, while the one who stutters when reciting the Qur’an due to difficulty, then he will have two rewards.” (Bukhari, Muslim).
Whenever I feel frustrated at my lack of fluency in reading Arabic, I try to remember the above hadith and strengthen my sabr.
in sha Allah may Allah SWT help us remember this daily.
